I have the honour to appeal to His Excellency the Governor-in-

Council against the arbitrary assessment by the Government Assesser,

of the Building at 177 179, Wanchai Read which said property is

used as a Godown and as a Newspaper Office.

value of from $4,800 to $21,800 is excessive, particularly so when

it is pointed out that the building is one and the same structure

notwithstanding the fact that there has been an additional outlay of

(1) That the purchasing price of the old building is $120,000,

figure, the annual income would be $12,049.
